Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress who has gained recognition for her performance in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun and Beta Saajan. She began her career in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in the Tezaab film, in which she was a part of the cast with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In her next film Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. While still a teenager she tried her hand at acting, but the majority films she attempted to make did not succeed. Then, she discovered success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the top. After her marriage, she took a pause in her career. Later, she returned. In recent times, she was one of the main characters in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit was awarded the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen nominations she received. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is the fourth most prestigious civil award in India. Her reputation also includes as a social activist.
